A MALE terrier has astounded his owner and animal experts by "adopting" a baby hare.

Tartan, a Jack Russell cross who belongs to Fraser Dwenger from Dingwall, has shattered the reptutation of terriers being ferocious killers of small animals by becoming a first-rate "dad" to the young hare..
