The community relationship officer is "honoured" at his nomination.

This year’s shortlist includes 47 individuals and organisations from charities and voluntary groups across the country.

A judging panel will determine the winners under nine categories while members of the public have also been voting for their favourite to lift the People’s Choice Award.

Chris Grant, (29), community relationship officer with Invergordon's AbilityNet, said: “I am really honoured on becoming a finalist in the SCVO Awards, I’m really lucky to work for such an amazing charity

“ I’m part of such a great team. The work everyone does is amazing.

“I may have been personally selected as a finalist, but this is for all the staff and volunteers of AbilityNet.”

AbilityNet supports anyone living with any disability or impairment to use technology to achieve their goals at home, at work and in education.

Winners will be announced on October 1 in an online ceremony so that all finalists can participate.
