THE fight to provide better care and support for terminally ill people has won the backing of a Ross MP after he linked up with TV's Anneka Rice to help launch the annual Great Daffodil Appeal.

Jamie Stone, who represents Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross, was pictured alongside the presenter and Strictly Come Dancing contestant to help promote the annual appeal by Marie Curie.

Joining them at the parliamentary event celebrating the launch was Marie Curie Rapid Response Healthcare Assistant, Lukmon Adeyemi.

Anneka Rice, who is also an ambassador for Marie Curie, said: “We all want to be well-looked after at the end of our lives. Marie Curie need our help, so that they can help more people have a good death. I’m so proud to support them.”

Mr Stone added: “Many of has have relied on Marie Curie Nurses to provide someone we love the vital care they need at the end of life.

“By donating to Marie Curie by buying one of their daffodil pins, we can raise awareness about the amazing work this charity provides and make sure they have the finances to be there for more people when they need help most.

“The outstanding work of Marie Curie is close to my heart and I am thrilled to support their Great Daffodil Appeal.”
