PERMISSION has been granted for the refurbishment of Dingwall Fire Station.

The decision will allow work to be carried out on the walls and roof of the building in Caberfeidh Avenue.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like a new external wall insulation system for the existing perimeter external walls.

The work will also see the replacement of the existing pitched roof structure and roof covering at the site which covers an area of 1642 square metres.

However, no work can begin until a detailed specification for all colours of proposed external materials and finishes are submitted to Highland Council.

The decision notice says this is to ensure that the development will be sensitive to, and compatible with, its context and local architectural styles.
