Roy MacGregor's Global Energy now has overall control of Ross-shire Engineering

THE Global Energy Group has taken over Ross-shire Engineering, it has been announced today (Thurs).

Global has increased its shares in the Muir of Ord-based company to 51 per cent, after taking a share equity of 30 per cent in it two years ago.

It means that Global Energy now has overall ownership of Ross-shire Engineering, a move which has been welcomed by both parties.

All the jobs at 30-year-old Ross-shire Engineering will be secured in the take-over, with potential for further growth and employment opportunities.

Roy MacGregor, chairman of GE Group said: "We took a share equity stake in Ross-shire Engineering some two years ago as we were confident their strong brand and turn-key industrial engineering services with a particular emphasis on mechanical, electrical and instrumentation would add depth to our company and also provide Ross-shire with exciting new opportunities for their business and this has proved to be the case.

"We always thought a time would come when it would be beneficial for us both to come into the Global suite of companies and allow for additional opportunities in the oil and gas and emerging energy sectors.

"I am delighted we now have the 51 per cent shareholding in Ross-shire Engineering and would like to thank their main directors Alan Dallas and Gary Grant for their commitment and support in this progressive move and they will continue to have the day to day running of the business.

"I am confident this progressive step will benefit us all in what are exciting times ahead within the energy marketplace."

Ross-shire Engineering works in the water industry and hydro energy as well as renewable, oil and gas markets.

Ross-shire Engineering’s managing director Alan Dallas said: "We have been working closely with Global for some time now and it has become obvious to everyone over time, the advantages in us working even more closely together and the opportunity to expand our market share into other energy industries. "There is no doubt we complement each other in our wide range of competencies and I am sure everyone will welcome this positive move.

"With Global now owning Nigg and their plans for expansion and capitalising on this world class facility, I firmly believe we add further strength to their portfolio of services that will be good news for the energy marketplace."

Ross-shire Engineering will continue to trade under their own brand name.
