A DINGWALL distillery’s craft gin will take prime place in a live cookery demo by one of Scotland’s foremost chefs tomorrow evening (Wednesday).

MasterChef winner Gary MacLean, who is also Scotland’s national chef, embraced the idea of making Glen Wyvis Distillery’s Goodwill Gin the key ingredient in some of his tasty dishes.

Social media users tuning in from 8pm will be able to see the Glaswegian incorporating the spirit, which uses hand-picked hawthorn berries from a neighbouring farm, into his creations.

Organiser Josh Fraser, of Glen Wyvis, said: “We noticed Gary had been doing a lot of online demos of his work and we thought it would be a perfect opportunity to ask him to do one using our Goodwill Gin.

“We were delighted he agreed and we’re hopeful a lot of folk who appreciate our gin will tune into what should be a fascinating watch.

“It is just something different for people to do, especially in these lockdown times when folk are at home trying to think of different ways to stay entertained.”

The chef’s choice of menu will be revealed on the evening.

The event will be shown at www.facebook.com/gmacchef/
