TWO strongest man title holders from Ross-shire are launching a new challenge after a Highland ice cream shop named a mammoth cone after them.

World Strongest Man champion Tom Stoltman and his brother, World Strongest Man finalist and 2021 European champion Luke Stoltman, from Invergordon, had to try the new megacone sold at the Inverness Ice cream shop Castle Cone on the High Street which was aptly named "The Stoltman".

The brothers went in with one cool food challenge as they battled against time for who would eat the giant cone, which holds five scoops of ice cream from Simpsons Buckie, in the shortest time.

Before the challenge, Luke Stoltman said: "I am buzzing about this one, I haven't had anything sweet for about three hours, so I am really excited to get something tasty."

After a series of brain freeze moments, Luke Stoltman was crowned "king of the cones" with an impressive record of 6 minutes and 31 seconds, to which Tom followed with an 8 minutes and 47 seconds timing.

The brothers are now challenging visitors of Inverness Ice cream shop to beat their time and enter a raffle.

"I dare you to beat that (time), no chance!

"If you guys want to come over to take the challenge, come down to Castle Cone and see if anyone can beat our time.

"I don't think anyone can!But if anyone manages to beat it I might give you a personal congratulations message and shake your hand!"

Tom went in for a mango sorbet, bubble gum, biscoff, maltesers and strawberry selection for his challenge, whereas Luke's choice was Speyside whisky, IRN brew, toffee honeycomb, bubblegum and Scottish tablet.

Behind the counter was Richard Simpsons, who owns the ice cream factory Simpsons Ice Cream in Buckie and manages and supplies Castle Cone since April this year, said it was an excellent day.

"We ran a competition to choose the name and that coincided with Tom Stoltman winning the World Strongest Man's title, and a couple of people had suggested The Stoltman so it made absolute sense to me to name it after them.

"I got in touch with them to ask if it was ok for us to use their name and they seemed delighted, and then decided to come in and take on the challenge.

"It must have given them a sore head doing eating it so quickly. My son tried it yesterday and it took him 30 minutes to finish it!

"Yeah that was my purpose also in choosing the name – these guys are doing great, they are local lads, and they are performing at a world's stage. I am a big strongman fan myself so it totally made sense to me to promote these guys and what they are doing

"You get a lot of visitors from all around the world in the shop and and it would be good for them to see a little something interesting."

The challenge is on at Castle Cone on the Inverness High Street for everyone who wants to dare the fastest time.

Those purchasing a cone will also be entered a raffle with a prize donated by the Stoltman brothers.

"It made sense for us to have a retail outlet, and the capital of the Highlands is the place to be. All the tourists are in Inverness so it's good to bring in Scottish ice cream there.

"We are still trying to advertise just now so in a couple days we will have posters on to publicize it and also to let anyone know that they can tak on the time challenge

"The purpose of the cone is mainly to share it or to

"The girls in the shop will be recording the time, so there will be an official time to see if anyone can beat Luke's.

"The brothers will kindly provide a prize for the fastest person, and they are going to donate a prize - by buying a cone you'll be entered a raffle.
