A BROKEN down freight train caused disruption on the Highland mainline this morning.
Word of the freight train fault, which occurred at Aviemore, emerged at 9.31am.
The driver was able to get it moving again a short while later, but the fault returned and restricted the train to no more than 5-15mph. It eventually managed to pull into sidings at 10.40am, allowing other trains to pass.
And, although other trains are now moving again, ScotRail has advised passengers of potential knock-on delays to services between the central belt and Inverness until 12.15pm as the network returns to full operation.
