A free business bootcamp will take place in Inverness later this month - and the Federation of Small Businesses is urging people to attend.

The organisation is holding the event in the Caledonian Stadium on Friday, April 26 at 9.30am for a 10am start. The free to attend event, which runs until 2.30pm, is open to all and is targeted at businesses from across the Highlands, Moray and beyond,.

It aims to provide everyone with “a morning of inspirational thoughts, support and networking designed to help their businesses flourish and grow.”

The FSB’s Highlands & Islands Development Manager, David Richardson, said: “What with ever-increasing costs, staffing shortages and shaky consumer demand, 2024 is a tough year for many businesses in the Highlands & Moray. Nevertheless, businesses need not feel that they must walk alone.

“We want our free Bootcamp to help business owners and managers better understand some of the opportunities out there and to leave feeling inspired to find out more, to introduce them to some of the support they can access, and to enable them to network with like-minded businesses from across the region.

“We’ll have sessions on Attracting Customers & Boosting Sales; Staff Recruitment & Retention – and Surviving Without; and New Opportunities for Growth. And rather than the audience feeling that they are being spoken at, we are adopting a more informal conversational style that will enable everyone to listen to and question the great speakers that we’ve lined up.

“We’ll also have talks from Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s CEO, Scot Gardner, on the club as a business, and FSB Scotland Young Entrepreneur of the Year Sandie Gordon on her journey, and we’ll also have a long networking lunch during which delegates can also chat to the business support agency staff present.”
