A ROSS County supporter who was a loyal servant of the club for decades on the Dingwall club's journey from Highland League to the SPFL top flight has today been honoured at the home of the Staggies.

The Staggies announced plans to honour Sinclair MacIvor ahead of today's home clash with league champions Celtic.

The club said there would be a minute's applause prior to today's match in his memory – later posting that it had been "impeccably observed".

It said: "Sinclair was a life-long Ross County supporter from the Highland League days to the SPFL.

"He had a long-standing connection with the club from coaching on a Sunday morning to always being on hand to help clear the the snow off the pitch during the winter.

"He volunteered as a match day host for 20 years, looking after the front door and players tunnel. For the last 11 years he worked as match day security manager."

Mr MacIvor, who was 59, passed away last month.

His funeral notice said he has passed away passed away suddenly, but peacefully, with his family by his side, at Raigmore Hospital on March 8.

He was described as beloved husband and soul mate of Lesley, much loved father of Sean, Ross and Callum, a dear father in law, and a doting granda of Kenzie, Yvie, Jay, Frankie, Paige and Lexie "and a good friend and colleague to many".
