A trade event organised by Williamson Foodservice returns to the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness tomorrow.

Hospitality, catering and retail businesses from the Highlands and Islands will make their way to the venue where over 60 food and drink suppliers from all over the UK will show off their goods, provide tastings and explain how to get the best value and profit from their products at the Williamson Walkabout.

The Inverness based food and drink wholesaler expects around 250 of its customers to attend with up to 400 business owners, chefs and other hospitality and retail staff registered.

Managing director of Williamson Foodservice Gary Williamson said: “With all the turmoil of the last few years this is the first opportunity to run our Williamson Walkabout trade show and my staff and I are really looking forward to it. We see it as a thank you to our customers for their ongoing loyalty.

“Suppliers have shown remarkable commitment to the Highlands and Islands by signing up and they are travelling in from all over the country in challenging weather conditions to be here and share their knowledge about their particular food and drink category.

“Provenance, sustainability and value is what we are regularly being asked about and as well as new ranges that deliver all of these, local and Scottish producers will be well represented. A Scottish Spirits bar will showcase around 12 gin, whisky, rum and vodka brands and we have a dedicated fish, shellfish and artisan meats section too.

“These are all designed to get customers thinking in advance of the 2023 summer season so they have something unique in their food and drink offering depending on how they choose to present that in menus.”

A special one-day only promotional catalogue with exceptional deals across the Williamson Foodservice range will offer customers attending excellent value ahead of imminent Spring and Easter openings. A dedicated retail space at the show will also help the area’s shops and other retail outlets understand the growing range in this segment.
