A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service commander has been ordered to stay away from her ex-partner following an alcohol-fuelled domestic row.

Jillian Graham (52) shouted and swore at her partner of 11 years after the woman got home from spending time at her sister's.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard the paid lived together at a property at Saltburn, Invergordon, where the argument broke out on November 28.

The court was told it centred around living arrangements with the potential of having Graham's mother moving in with them.

Appearing from custody, Graham admitted acting in a threatening and abusive manner to her partner.

Fiscal depute Emily Hood said the partner had returned home to find Graham under the influence of alcohol.

Graham shouted and swore during the subsequent row before police attended.

Defence agent Kevin Hughes said: “The accused is employed with the fire service as a commander.

“The position is that she accepts she had consumed alcohol and accepts she acted in the manner libelled.

“She accepts that the complainer wants to terminate the relationship.

“She is aware that the courts do not tolerate this behaviour.”

The court heard that a third party would be needed to sort out getting possessions from the shared house as Graham's partner did not want direct contact.

Sheriff Gary Aitken said: “You've heard what's been said and the issue of concern.

“I accept that this is exceptional behaviour.”

The sheriff deferred sentence for three months for Graham to be of good behaviour.

She was released on bail to her mother's address in Hawick in the borders.

She is to appear at Tain Sheriff Court on February 27.
