Emergency services were called to a car on fire in Applecross.

The rural fire crew were called at 00.47am in the early hours of Wednesday morning after a vehicle was seen on fire near the beach.

Locals had earlier reported the car abandoned by a group who were touring the NC500.

A spokeswoman for Scottish Fire and Rescue said: "We were called at 00.47 on Wednesday July 21 to concerns over a fire.

"We were told there was a car on fire in Applecross, near the beach area.

"An appliance was tasked and a pump hose was used to extinguish the fire."
