Fire crews spent several hours tackling a blaze at a house on the Black Isle

The incident happened in Castle Street, Fortrose, on Friday night.

Fire crews from Inverness and Fortrose were called to the scene after the alarm was raised at 10.49pm.

Three appliances plus a height vehicle were used to tackle the fire which was reported to be out at 2.40am although fire fighters remained on the scene until later, making sure the area was safe.

Two hose reel jets, one main jet, one safety jet and four sets of breathing apparatus were used.

Police officers also attended the scene including helping with traffic management.

It is understood no one was injured.
