Update: Progress being made.

Fire crews from across the Highlands including Ross-shire are tackling a wildfire near Beauly.

The incident is at Kerrow Farm, Cannich.

The alarm was first raised a few days ago but fire crews were called back again yesterday at 12.48pm after it reignited.

A wildfire unit from Inverness is currently at the scene along with appliances from Inverness, Dingwall, Fortrose, Fort Augustus, Cromarty and Spean Bridge.

Wildfire risk very high as warning issued for Inverness

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) issued the warning of a “very high risk” of wildfire in many parts of the country last week.

It included Inverness-shire, Nairn-shire, the Loch Ness area, Easter Ross and southern parts of Sutherland and up to the east coast of Caithness.
