Organisers of Ullapool Book Festival have announced its lineup

ORGANISERS of the popular Wester Ross festival have offered bookworms a tantalising taste of what's to come it returns to a live event for the first time since the coronavirus crisis.

The yearly festival, due to take place on May 6-8, will play host to several famous literary figures.

Writers this year come from Scotland, Canada, Estonia and cover genres like fiction, poetry and theatre.

Newly announced writers include George Gunn, Hannah Lavery, Triin Soomets and Ian Williams.

There will be live music from The Fun Lovin' Crime writers made up of Stuart Neville, Mark Billingham, Doug Johnstone, Val McDermid, Luca Veste and Chris Brookmyre.

These are just some of the 15 events due to take place over the course of the event.

The full programme will become available on March 14 and tickets go on sale on March 21.
