AN EASTER Ross dancer won a national championship during one of the latest Highland Gatherings.
Innes Mackenzie from Fearn was crowned as 16-years Scottish National Champion at the Cowal Highland Gathering, in Dunoon.
His mother, Norma Swanson, said: "We are so proud of Innes for this amazing achievement, especially as he got injured in the middle of July and had to go through intensive physio for three weeks and miss all classes and Highland games during those weeks.
"We were not even sure whether he would be able to dance at Cowal this year, so for him to go there and win the Scottish national championships is just amazing and a credit for his determination and hard work."
