Fashion chains Oasis and Warehouse are to permanently close all their stores and online shopping.

They each have sections in Debenhams at the Eastgate Shopping Centre in Inverness.

Warehouse also has a section at Outfit in the Inverness Shopping Park.

Some 1800 staff nationwide will lose their jobs after administrators said they had been unable to secure a rescue deal for the fashion chains.

It is not known how many will be in Inverness. Some employees have been furloughed.

The two brands have been sold to restructuring firm Hilco, the owner of the Homebase DIY chain, in a deal which includes their stock but not their 92 standalone stores or about 400 concessions.

Debenhams has also gone into administration.
