THE opportunity to pitch in on the creation of a wildflower meadow in Ross-shire is offered green-fingered enthusiasts keen to help improve their local environment.

Dingwall Community Woodland is hosting a special event later this month.

It takes place on Saturday, January 27th between 10:30am and noon at Dingwall Community Woodland field.

The invitation reads: "Join us in the Dingwall Community Woodland field to prepare the ground next to the pond for a wildflower meadow. We will be raking the ground and scattering yellow rattle seeds. Please bring a rake with you if you can.

"You will also be able to walk around and see how the trees which were planted one year ago are getting on!

"No experience required. Hot drinks and snacks will be provided."
