Tribute paid by family to a 'much loved wife and mother' following shock death near Drumnadrochit; the tribute to Morag Carmichael came after a Highland man appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court charged with her murder

A WOMAN who who was killed near Drumnadrochit this week has been described as a "much loved wife and mother" by her family.

The tribute, which was released through the police on Thursday afternoon, follows the death of Morag Carmichael (66).

She died at Culnakirk by Drumnadrochit on Monday.

A 33-year-old Glenurquhart man has since appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court, accused of her murder.

Neil Carmichael made no plea to killing Mrs Carmichael when he appeared in court on Wednesday.

He was committed for further examination and remanded in custody. The case is next due to call at the court on January 6.
