"A phenomenal ewe trade was witnessed today. Explosive, extreme, meteoric and frenzied are only a few of the adjectives I could use to describe the trade that saw a top of £235 for a pen of Texels and the whole sale at a whopping £113 per head. Many more are required to satisfy the growing demand.”

The verdict: “A similar number of prime hoggs forward cashed in at comparable rates on the week. It is growing increasingly evident the difference in the values between sheep on feed and those that aren’t. Hoggs with weight 46kg plus are the easiest commodity to cash and are rewarding vendors with the best returns. A phenomenal ewe trade was witnessed today. Explosive, extreme, meteoric and frenzied are only a few of the adjectives I could use to describe the trade that saw a top of £235 for a pen of

Texels and the whole sale at a whopping £113 per head. Many more are required to satisfy the growing demand.”
