A LONG-running Ross-shire art school is set to mark a major milestone with the launch of its latest student exhibition this weekend.

Bridge House Art in Ullapool is celebrating the 21st anniversary of its flagship portfolio course.

One of the smallest art schools in Scotland, Bridge House Art has proven a valuable educational resource for the Highlands with a growing international reputation – hosting students from as far afield as Lithuania, France, Switzerland, Spain and the USA.

And on Sunday the school will celebrate the anniversary with the annual exhibition of portfolio coursework.

Eleanor White, founder and principal tutor, said: “I have been delighted with the way this year’s students have responded to the challenge, this promises to be an excellent exhibition.”

‘Resonance’ will be open daily at An Talla Solais Gallery in West Argyle Street between 10am and 5pm from this Sunday to March 3. Entry is free and it promises to be an eclectic mix of drawing, painting, printmaking, jewellery and illustration. Much of the work will be available for sale.

The exhibition follows an intensive four months of training in the visual arts for 12 students from across the UK and mainland Europe. The 16 week course covers the likes of painting, printmaking, textiles and sculpture. Each individual spends the second term work for the exhibition.
