THE sponsor of the second annual Highland Business Awards is on a mission to support trade development across the north.

Technip’s pipeline fabrication facility, located at Evanton Spoolbase in Easter Ross, renewed its position as the event’s principal sponsor.

The spoolbase, which employs around 250, has had a presence in the Highlands since 1985 and is a keen supporter of local business and enterprise.

Part of Highland Business Week, organised by Inverness Chamber of Commerce, the awards will recognise and reward deserving businesses from across the region.

Dave Miller, Technip’s business delivery manager (Evanton), said: "Energy is at the core of Technip. With engineering, technologies and project management, on land and at sea, we safely deliver innovative energy solutions for our clients. We are delighted to be the principal sponsor once more for the Highland Business Awards.

"We are on a mission to support business development in the region and our commitment to an event like this underlines that."

Highland Business Week will run from September 22 to 26. Scottish Provincial Press, publishers of the North Star, is the media partner for Highland Business Week.

The Highland Business Awards will be staged at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness on September 25.
