Highland MSP Emma Roddick has received 'hate' after declaring her support for SNP leadership candidate Humza Yousaf.

The Inverness-based SNP politician has taken action on social media because of the reaction to her backing of the health secretary.

She stated: "Absolutely ridiculous responses have led me to limit replies – I only came on Twitter to share my support.

"Can’t expect my team to moderate this level of hate and do not want constituents to be confronted with it just for looking at what their MSP’s up to."
