AN Easter Ross town is being transformed with a welcome blast of colour thanks to the efforts of volunteers behind a community project.

Tain Task Force volunteers have managed to plant barrels close to the town's junction with the A9.

The Rose Garden in the heart of the town is also in full bloom, bringing some cheer to locals during the coronavirus crisis.

The efforts have been appreciated by locals, some of whom took to Facebook to share their thanks.

Elaine Currie wrote: "Looks lovely. I love to see the flowers that you all work so hard on! Thank you."

Alina Macleod wrote: "Brilliant job indeed. Looks amazing, just what the community of Tain needs after all this lockdown."
