A DOUBLE celebration at Edderton marked the hall’s 30th birthday and the opening of a new play park.

Hall committee chairman Cameron Warren paid tribute to funders Highland LEADER, Beinn Tharsuinn Windfarm, Balblair Distillery and welcomed the “fresh, colourful new look” of the park which he predicted children would enjoy playing in for years to come.

Edderton Hall Committee had contracted Kyle of Sutherland Development Trust (KoSDT) to redevelop and refurbish the existing playpark on their behalf. Beth Simco, contracts officer from KoSDT said: “It was a great project to work on – we worked closely with Edderton Hall Committee to ensure value for money for the community. We installed two multi-play units and Crusader rope swing, as well as a new accessible swing seat. We hope that the children are delighted with it!”

In the evening, the birthday celebrations continued with a country and western themed barn dance being held in the hall.

Cameron Warren, Chairperson of the Edderton Hall Committee said: “We are really pleased with the fresh, colourful new look of the playpark which had been sitting half empty for over a year. We are sure that the local children will love playing there for many years to come! Thank

you to our funders Highland LEADER, Beinn Tharsuinn Windfarm, Ward Discretionary Fund and Balblair Distillery for helping this happen.”
