BURST pipes in an Easter Ross town have left householders and businesses without water this morning.

Scottish Water has confirmed that customers in the Alness area "may be without supply this morning".

The supplier said: "We have located two burst water mains in the area and we are working to isolate these bursts to carry out the repairs that are required.

"Unfortunately at this stage we cannot provide an estimated time that the water will be restored. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."

This story will be updated.
