An Easter Ross sex offender with two previous convictions involving indecent images of children admitted a third similar offence at Inverness Sheriff Court.

Ryan Chlopuk, of Saltburn, Invergordon, pleaded guilty to possessing a total of 35 videos, 22 of which were of the most obscene, and 13 still images of children being abused.

He also admitted a notification requirement.

Sheriff Sara Matheson was told that as 29-year-old Chlopuk was already on the Sex Offender's Register. A routine check on him was made on February 12, 2021 and a mobile phone was seized.

Analysis of the device showed that it had the material although it had been deleted.

Chlopuk had also set up a Snapchat account using a false name.

Sentence was deferred until April 19 for a background report and Chlopuk's bail was continued.
