TWO Easter Ross secondary schools have issued a reminder that it will only open to senior phase S4, S5 & S6 pupils today (Wednesday) due to industrial action.

Alness Academy said students in S1/2/3 should not attend.

A letter shared earlier by head teacher Craig Paterson said: "The NASUWT and SSTA have given Highland Council notice that their members will be taking strike action on Wednesday, December 7.

"Careful consideration has been given to the potential impact of the strike action and I am writing to inform you that Alness Academy will be open to senior phase students in S4, S5 & S6."

Tain Royal Academy shared a similar message via its social media.

It posted: "Reminder that school is open tomorrow Wednesday, 7th December for S4, S5 and S6 Senior Phase pupils only due to strike action."

It says the school will be open as normal for all on Thursday, December 8.

This story will be updated as further information is shared.
