STAFF at an Easter Ross secondary have appealed for pupils learning remotely from home during the coronavirus crisis to ensure they check in.

Schools across Ross-shire have been finding their feet this week following the extended Easter break triggered by the lockdown.

While the term officially started again this week, efforts are still being made to get into a new routine forced by the unprecedented scenario.

In a message to parents and pupils, Tain Royal Academy appealed for pupils yet to register online to do so.

It said: "If your child has not registered online and you have not contacted the school either via email or message on this site, then school will be calling home tomorrow to make sure that everything is okay and see if there is anything we can do to support you.

"At the moment this will be approximately 150 calls to make."
