BUDDING writers from Easter Ross have shown what you can do with just 50 words in a story-writing competition.
Pupils from Knockbreck, Craighill, Fearn, Inver, Gledfield, Tarbat Old, Edderton and Hilton of Cadboll primaries took part in the annual Tain ASG competition.
They had to write a 50-word story based on a choice of five images used for inspiration.
There was a winner for each image and an overall winner for the best piece of writing.
The standard of writing was excellent and as they could only use 50 words, the pupils had to think very carefully about content and vocabulary.
It was also a fantastic opportunity for teachers to share standards and discuss the children’s writing across the different schools.
The winners were presented with prizes by Mark Jones, head teacher at Tain Royal Academy.
The overall winner was Hugh Maclelland of Craighill.
Winners for each image were: Keith Munro – Knockbreck; Emidy Shaw – Knockbreck; Isla Pett – Knockbreck; Sophie MacDonald – Craighill.

upstairs…
