Easter Ross hit by power cut with seven postcode areas in the Evanton area are affected – Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) has estimated the fault will be fixed by 5pm

Residents and businesses in Easter Ross have been left without power this afternoon.

The outage, which is in the Evanton area, began at 1.52pm and Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) has estimated the fault will be fixed by 5pm.

Seven postcodes – IV16 9XA, IV16 9XL, IV16 9XN, IV16 9XW, IV16 9YN, IV16 9YR and IV16 9YW – are known to be affected.

An SSEN spokesman said: "We’re sorry for the loss of supply. We currently have a fault affecting the areas listed. Our engineers are on site working hard to get the power back on as quickly as they can."
