Nigg couple congratulated with card from Queen on occasion of 60th wedding anniversary

A couple celebrating their 60th year of marriage were presented with a card from Her Majesty the Queen.

Alisdair and Leila Munro from Nigg were presented with an anniversary card celebrating their union, by the Lord-Lieutenant for Ross and Cromarty, Joanie Whiteford.

The couple were married in Tain Parish Church on March 2 1961.

Mrs Whiteford, the Lord Lieutenant, said: "Al has lived in Nigg all of his life, having been a very well respected shepherd of Cheviot sheep and many people local to Tain will know Leila, for her good humour in Grants the Bakers.
