A couple celebrating their 60th year of marriage were presented with a card from Her Majesty the Queen.
Alisdair and Leila Munro from Nigg were presented with an anniversary card celebrating their union, by the Lord-Lieutenant for Ross and Cromarty, Joanie Whiteford.
The couple were married in Tain Parish Church on March 2 1961.
Mrs Whiteford, the Lord Lieutenant, said: "Al has lived in Nigg all of his life, having been a very well respected shepherd of Cheviot sheep and many people local to Tain will know Leila, for her good humour in Grants the Bakers.
"I send my warm congratulations to this very special couple and wish them well for the future."
