Broad daylight assault in Easter Ross town of Tain sparks police plea for information and description of suspect

AN unprovoked attack in broad daylight that left a man injured has prompted a suspect description and witness appeal from police in Easter Ross.

Police say the attack happened in Tain on Friday at around 1pm.

A 42-year-old man was reportedly assaulted to his injury on Hartfield Road, close to the junction with Cromartie Gardens by an unknown male.

The male suspect has been described by police as being in his forties or fifties and about 5ft 10in tall with light brown/greying hair.

He is said to have been walking with two dogs, a black and white Collie dog and a long-haired Jack Russell.

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident, or the identity of the male supect, is asked to contact Police on 101 quoting reference number 1540 of July 8, 2022.
