A DRUNK man walked into two Ross-shire supermarkets to buy more alcohol.
But when he was refused on both occasions, he picked up four cans of lager and a bottle of gin in each store and left without paying on Sunday, September 13.
Stephen Dick, of Montague Road, Inverness, appeared from custody at Inverness Sheriff Court and admitted theft by shoplifting from Tain's Co-op and Tesco premises.
Defence solicitor Marc Dickson said his 19-year-old client, who may have an alcohol dependency, had intended to pay.
The £56 worth of alcohol was not recovered.
Dick was ordered to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work.
