A DRUG addict has been placed on a 12 month treatment order for offences in Alness and Inverness.

But Sheriff David Sutherland warned Nadia Neary she could be jailed for up to four years for her offending if she breaches it.

Sentence had been deferred for reports and a drug treatment testing order on Neary (36) who had an address in Church Street, Inverness.

The offences date from November 2017 to November 2018 and include possession of cocaine in Inverness, stealing from shops in Alness and Inverness, punching a woman on the head in Alness, and breach of the peace in Inverness High Street.

Sheriff Sutherland heard Neary had a chequered history on a past payback order and a drug treatment testing order but social workers felt she was suitable candidate for a DTTO.
