APPLICANTS are being sought for "possibly the best job going in horticulture" at a world-renowned Wester Ross garden.

Inverewe Garden near Poolewe is on the hunt for a propagator at what is the National Trust for Scotland’s most northerly heritage garden.

With the deadline for applications – July 14 – looming, the Trust reckons the position is without doubt the "dream job" for the right applicant.

Flagging "possibly the best job going in horticulture", it said the garden also boasts one of the best office views going and the opportunity to look after national collections.

It's an opportunity to "grow amazing produce and plants from around the world" with the area hailed as a "brilliant place to bring up kids".

In terms of the midges for which Wester Ross is notorious, it says "this job is least affected of all at the garden".

The post offers a salary of between £19,731 - £21,924 with accommodation available.

The successful applicant will assist in the maintenance of Inverewe as an internationally-recognised garden of outstanding horticultural importance, contributing to its conservation and development and to its enjoyment by visitors and supporters. The post-holder will take the lead in managing the propagation needs of Inverewe, ensuring its signicant collection of plants is conserved and enhanced.
