Rubbish left at the front door of a house resulted in a teenage girl being assaulted.

Hairdresser Beth Morrison of High Street, Invergordon had come out of the Ulladale Crescent property in Strathpeffer on March 25, 2020 when the 17-year-old neighbour complained.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard that an argument developed, it escalated and the teenager was pushed and slapped on the face.

Morrison admitted assault and was fined £470.

Defence solicitor Clare Russell said: "This took place two years ago and since then she has been of good behaviour.

"At that time, she was in a relationship with someone who is known to the court and there was a problem between her boyfriend and the victim.

"But now she has removed herself from that negative peer group." Ms Russell added.
