A QUARTET of golfing enthusiasts have a great reason to get out on the fairways and hit some balls next month – a lot of balls, as it happens.

Four Ross-shire golfers aim to play no fewer than FOUR rounds in a day next month to raise cash for Highland Hospice.

Ryan Kay, Garry Mellis, Ross Thomson and Mikey Hind will be attempting the effort at Muir of Ord Golf Club.

It is due to take place on Friday, June 18 and they have already set up an online fundraising page which is well on the way to their £2000 target.

With the timing of the challenge, they will at least maximise the amount of daylight.

The group wants to raise as much money as possible to support the delivery of hospice services to communities across the Highlands.

Hospice fundraiser Emma Nicol said: “Huge thanks to Ryan, Garry, Ross and Mikey for organising this event for us. They have already raised a large amount with more than a month to go before the challenge takes place.

“We are so grateful to you all for this effort.”
