THE triumphant return of a Christmas panto to a landmark venue in the heart of Ross-shire's county town is creating a major buzz.

Cast members with the long-established Dingwall Players have stepped up rehearsals ahead of the opening night of Santa in Space – A Christmas Pantomime Adventure.

The fun-packed show is set to be all the more special this year it marks a return of the seasonal production to Dingwall Town Hall for the first time in 13 years.

The venue is at the centre of a major refurbishment project with hopes high that it will return to its role as a vibrant hub at the centre of the town.

Director Allan Thomson said: “You can be assured that all the elements of panto will be forthcoming, booing, audience participation, nasty villain and heroes not to mention the indomitable Dame Dangle, played by Stewart MacPherson.

"Without giving too much of the plot away planet Earth and Santa are in the grip of the evil Vile Un and incompetent henchmen, Null and Void – can Dame Dangle Crystal, Dick Daring and Roberta the Robot save the day and Christmas!”

Santa in Space will lift off from Dingwall Town Hall from Thursday, December 8 to Saturday, December 10 at 7.30pm, with a matinee on the Saturday at 2.30pm. The matinee show is already a sell-out.
