A DIAMOND duo from Dingwall who marked their 60th wedding anniversary kept celebrations low key due to the pandemic.

But with eight grandchildren to keep them on their toes, it is only a matter of time before Anne and Ronald MacMaster are all back together to enjoy each other's company.

Son Paul MacMaster said the Dingwall couple, who met and married in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull received a letter from the Queen which was the highlight of their day, along with "many, many" appreciated cards from family and friends.

Mr MacMaster junior said: "My dad, Ronald MacMaster ,was born in Evanton and my mother Anne Johnstone was born in Alloa.

"They met in Tobermory in the early 1960s and got married there in 1961.

"They then lived in Lochbroom until the late 1960s before settling in Corpach near Fort William to raise the family."

The couple later moved back to Dingwall.

He continued: "They got a lovely letter from the Queen and many, many cards from family and friends.

"Obviously due to current circumstance we were not able get together to celebrate but I did manage to get a photograph of them together."

The couple have four children and eight grandchildren.
