A Dingwall man who defied a court order to prevent him from contacting his partner shouted, swore and threatened her at her Inverness home.

Sandon Urquhart, of Tulloch Square, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court and pleaded guilty to a breach of his bail which occurred on June 14.

He also admitted threatening or abusive behaviour in Aird Avenue, Inverness on the same date, as well as previous convictions.

The 25-year-old had sentence deferred by Sheriff David Nicholson until August 31 for a drug treatment order assessment.

Defence solicitor advocate Clare Russell said: "He has finally recognised there is an underlying issue to his offending."
