A ROSS-SHIRE Gaelic choir with a rich heritage will celebrate its 70th anniversary in Dingwall next week.

Dingwall Gaelic Choir, which formed in 1954, is to mark the milestone event with a special concert.

It takes place in Dingwall Academy on Friday, March 15 at 7pm.

Entrance – at the door from 6.30pm – is £10 and for school pupils is £5.

Teas, coffees, shortbread and birthday cake will be served at the interval.

Guests include Gaelic singer Norrie Maciver – lead singer of band Skipinnish – and Mòd Gold medallist Kristine Kennedy along with the Academy's folk group, Corona Celtica, Inver-Ross Accordion and Fiddle group and piper Dan Mackinnon.

There will also be performances by Dingwall and Inverness Gaelic choirs, known jointly as Eadarainn (between us).

The concert will be financially supported through a grant from The GoodWill Fund. An especially warm welcome is extended to all former members of the choir from over the years.
