AFTER the success of its take on Treasure Island, a Ross-shire amateur dramatics group is setting its sights on staging a Christmas classic.
Dingwall Players put their own spin on the Robert Louis Stevenson tale for outdoor performances at Foulis last month.
The group is planning “something quite different and very exciting” with the staging of ‘A Highland Nativity’ in the unique setting of Dingwall Auction Mart from December 12 to 18.
It will based on 15th century Medieval Mystery (or Miracle) Play Cycles based on the Bible stories and enacted by various guilds and crafts.
The production, suitable for all the family and with a good helping of comedy, will be a much-needed opportunity for the community of Dingwall to come together to celebrate Christmas – regardless of faith, belief or religion.
It is looking for people aged over 16 to get involved as cast members, musicians, backstage and front of house crew.
Anyone interested can attend one or more script read throughs, when preliminary casting will begin.
Read throughs will be held in Dingwall Players Studio Theatre, on the first floor of the Ross-shire Club, on Dingwall High Street, on Wednesday, August 25, Tuesday, August 31 and Thursday, September 2, starting at 7pm.
