Dingwall & District Accordion & Fiddle Club compere, Ian Simpson, warmly welcomed the audience on a cold, frosty evening for February's musical evening at the town's Legion Club.

Frankie Fraser (accordion) and Christine Matheson (keyboard) got the music under way with a selection of marches, Gaelic waltzes and finishing with a set of toe-tapping favourites. Hamish MacDougall followed with a lively set on his melodeon. Hamish was accompanied by Martin MacLean (drums) and Christine (keyboard).

Monica MacLean and Georgie MacLennan from Rogart were next on stage playing their five row button key accordions. Maggie Jamieson (drums) and Christine (keyboard) accompanied them with three well played sets, including the popular, Balmoral Highlanders.

New to our Club were talented accordionist Graham Wood and David MacBeath, who played keyboard.

The audience enjoyed Graham and David's music and hope they come back again soon.

Guests for the evening were the Emma Rutherford Band, recently renamed Ceilidh Express. Emma, playing accordion, was ably accompanied by talented fiddler, Zoe Livings, David MacBeath ( keyboard) and Maggie Jamieson (drums). These four musicians produced a fine sound, playing some familiar and some tunes which were new to the audience. The programme included a range of tempos and styles.

After the interval, it was the turn of the InverRoss Group. The audience enjoyed the music from Donna Dingwall on lead accordion, Frankie Fraser (accordion), Audrey MacDonald (fiddle) and Christine Matheson (keyboard). Michael Chisholm on drums, completed the line up.

The return of the guests included a beautiful fiddle solo from Zoe. This was another excellent evening of music and fun which passed too quickly.

The next meeting is on March 1 at the Legion Club.
