A DEVICE which can help save lives in an emergency has been installed at a Ross-shire shinty club.

The defibrillator will be installed adjacent to the front door of Caberfeidh Shinty Clubhouse next to Castle Leod near Strathpeffer.

Club members were joined by representatives of Ross County Cricket Club and the Strathpeffer Highland Gathering committee who shared the cost of the device. Training was delivered by representatives of the Lucky2BHere charity who also shared information on CPR,stroke awareness and choking.

Ian MacLean, president of the shinty club, hailed it an important addition to the network of defibrillators and said the whole community of Strathpeffer, Achterneed, Blairninich,Fodderty and the Heights would benefit.
