An online dance class has raised more than £1500 for Women's Aid in Inverness.

Sophie Donald (27) had hundreds of people join her online at the weekend for her "Empowering Women" dance class, in aid of the charity.

Miss Donald who is from Drumnadrochit, decided to undertake the fundraiser after being inspired by another woman who had benefited from Women's Aid services.

Miss Donald said: "I am so happy with all the money that has been raised.

"I was quite anxious about whether anyone would come along. But as soon as I opened the laptop to do the class, I could see that friends and many other people were joining in.

"There were people from all over the country, from London, Inverness and Glasgow, sending messages of support. It was so lovely to see so many people who wanted to support Women's Aid.

"It was quite overwhelming to see such a great response.

"We have raised £1520 so far, and money is still coming in.

"I want to thank everyone who has shown their support for the event"

Miss Donald runs a free daily dance class on her social media feed. It can be found on Instagram at SophieD.Dance.
