A POPULAR Highland eatery has been named Scotland’s cyclist café of the year – again.

Velocity Café and Bicycle Workshop received the award from Cycling UK.

Alice Masheter, a project worker from the Inverness business, said: “We have been awarded Scotland’s cyclist café of the year – making us the only café to win the award twice.

“We were encouraged by the increase in walking and cycling during 2020, and look forward to welcoming customers back to the café.”

A Cycling UK spokesman said: “Velocity Café and Bicycle Workshop offers healthy food, great coffee and runs projects promoting health and wellbeing.

“Not only that, their workshop team has been working tirelessly during lockdown to keep people riding. It’s no wonder they’ve just been awarded Scotland’s cyclist café of the year for the second time.”
