CROMARTY is positioning itself as the place to be this weekend with a host of events converging on the same day.

While several local buildings will be taking part in the Doors Open Day, the Black Isle Words Festival will be in full swing — and the new, expanded community market will be back from its summer break with the biggest event yet.

The community market will see the launch of the local food initiative, Blasta, with composting, energy saving and health and fitness advice being added to the usual offering of local produce.

A link with the Black Isle Words Festival will be provided by publishers selling signed copied of books by local authors and photographers. Ensuring it all goes with a swing will be another first — live music from the Kiltearn Fiddlers.

Cromarty Primary School will be providing lunches. The last time they did this, in May, they sold out. This time they are including organic veg grown by the children themselves.

Cromarty market is held on the second Saturday of each month at Victoria Hall, Cromarty from 11.30am to 2.30pm.
