STAFF at an award-winning Black Isle attraction are "good to go" under revised guidance for the reopening of businesses as coronavirus restrictions are eased.

Cromarty-based Eco Ventures specialises in marine wildlife watching trips using a custom built 9.5m rigid inflatable boat.

The firm took to its social media to report: "Delighted to say that we are now 'Good to Go'. This supporting mark means that we have demonstrated adherence to the Scottish Government and public health guidance, have carried out a Covid-19 risk assessment and that we have all the required processes in place to undertake our operations as safely as possible."

It added: "We are now hopefully one step closer to welcoming you back on board on July 15!"

In common with many tourist operators, it acknowledges concerns amongst some living locally about the easing of restrictions.

It says it plans to start slowly with small numbers "until we are sure that the measures we are adopting are workable and above all as safe as they can possibly be".

It said: "Although we are delighted to be able to get back out on the water and share our amazing scenery and wildlife with you, we understand and indeed share the anxieties that many visitors and more vulnerable members of the community will naturally feel as restrictions begin to ease. We have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to adapt the shop, our booking systems and operating procedures to meet the recommended guidelines and more detail on that will follow shortly.

"Although the procedures we are putting in place may feel very different, especially to our regular customers rest assured that the welcome will be warmer than ever.

"One of the biggest things we personally will take away from the past four months is just how incredibly lucky we are to live where we do and to have the community, and small local businesses that we have here, all of whom have stepped up during this hugely challenging time.

"To also have had the time to enjoy and explore places minutes or within walking distance from home has also brought a whole new perspective and appreciation of where we live. On behalf of all the team here at EcoVentures we look forward to welcoming you very soon."
